Beneath it lies hand-teased Devonshire fleece wool to provide immediate give, promoting air flow to moderate temperature throughout the night, while a deeper layer of British fleece wool adds depth and resilience to prevent uneven surface compression over time.
The spring system features a single tier of 1,716 hand-nested, calico-pocketed Vanadium steel coils in a King size, each coil in its own calico pocket to respond independently to weight. Vanadium steel maintains tension longer than standard carbon steel, enabling consistent support and durability. Available in Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm tensions, the Devonshire can be split at the center for partners with different preferences. Two rows of hand side-stitching reinforce the border coils for a firm edge, and hand-tufting with felt washers anchors the fillings to prevent lateral shifting and preserve a uniform sleeping surface over years of use.
